Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Gary and I will be taking on the South Coast Challenge over the August Bank Holiday weekend, walking 100km from Eastbourne to Arundel over 2 days.

We are raising money for the Martlets Hospice based in Brighton and Hove, who support people living through a terminal illness to live their lives to the full. They are also there for family and friends - providing practical care and emotional support when it matters most.

I have chosen to fundraise for the Martlets Hospice as this is a charity very close to my heart.

My Dad was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer in 2016 and throughout his treatment he spent time at the Martlets for pain management and blood transfusions as well as being offered complementary therapies such as shiatsu, which Dad enjoyed.

He most recently went into the Martlets in January of this year and unfortunately didn't come home again.  The staff took such good care of Dad and made him feel comfortable and treated him with such dignity and respect. My sister and I were able to stay over night at the Hospice to be with Dad in the last few days of his life. They offered us so much support and care and we were looked after so well. We are so grateful to The Martlets for allowing us the privacy and time with our Dad in those last precious moments. They really are an incredible charity.

This will be a big challenge for both of us and anything you can donate, no matter how small, will make such a huge difference to us and the charity!

Thank you so much,

Natalie and Gary x
